Terms

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Caption Chat is an AAC support tool. By using it, you agree to use it thoughtfully and to understand its limits.

Not medical care

Caption Chat may support communication, modeling, captioning, and AAC practice. It is not a medical device and does not replace assessment, treatment, or advice from a qualified clinician.

Your boards and backups

You are responsible for reviewing boards, vocabulary, symbols, and settings before using them with a communicator. Keep your own backup when a board matters. Browser storage can be cleared by device settings, browser settings, private browsing, or system cleanup.

Accounts and sync

Google Sign-In and cloud sync are optional. If you use them, keep your account secure and do not share access with people who should not edit the board.

Content and symbols

Some symbols are provided by OpenMoji and Mulberry Symbols under their respective Creative Commons licenses. User-created labels, uploads, and edits remain the responsibility of the person who adds them.

Availability

Caption Chat is provided as-is. The app may change, pause, or stop working because of browser changes, service outages, network conditions, or maintenance.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Caption Chat to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
  • Do not try to bypass admin, sync, or storage protections.
  • Do not upload content you do not have permission to use.
